Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with acute TTI that included Type I or II coronoid process fractures diagnosed by history, x-ray and computed tomography (CT) scan; 2. Men or women aged 18 years or older (with no upper age limit); 3. Patients treated with a HEF after open reduction and internal fixation and/or arthroplasty of the RH due to persistent instability, and patients treated with repair or internal fixation of all osseous and ligament structures; 4. Provision of informed consent by patient.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with impaired elbow function (i.e. stiff or painful elbow or neurological disorder of the upper limb) before the injury; 2. patients with a concomitant distal humeral fracture, shaft of ulna or radius fracture or distal radioulnar joint injury; 3. patients with additional substantial traumatic injuries of the affected upper limb; 4. retained hardware around the affected elbow.
