Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18 to 60 years with nonspecific chornic neck pain at least three months, visual analogue scale (VAS) more than 40 mm intensity; 2. No contraindication of cupping; 3. Volunteer to participate in the subject and willing to cooperate, signed informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were included only if neck pain was clearly identified to be of mechanical origin and specific causes for their neck pain had been excluded in the medical history either by an orthopaedist or a neurologist. Specific causes included traumatic neck pain, inflammatory or malignant disease, congenital malformation of the spine, radicular symptoms such as radiating pain, paresis, prickling, or tingling, Invasive or non-invasive treatments on neck pain within the last month. Further exclusion criteria were serious acute or chronic organic diseases such as cancer, mental disorders, and haemorrhagic tendencyor anticoagulation treatment. Female patients during pregnancy, lactation, and menses are also included. Diseases can affect evaluation, such as, sensory aphasia, cognitive impairment, severe vision or hearing impairment. Lastly, in the past 6 months, patients have taken vasoactive drugs that affect microcirculation. Recently, patients have great mood swings.
