Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. patients with a DSM-5 clinical criteria for major depressive episode; 2. patients who are experiencing their first depressive episode or being received current treatment(less than 3 months); 3. patients were between 18-60 years old, males and females; 4. patients who demonstrated a HAMD-17 (17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale) Score>=18; 5. right-handed; 6. education years>=7; 7. patients provided their written and informed consent. Control group: Age, gender and education level match the patient group and HAMD-17 scores were requested <=7.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they fell into any of the following categories: 1. had a history of serious physical, cerebral organic history or head injury; 2. mental retardation; 3. brain structural abnormalities; 4. uncooperative or can not effectively accomplish this experimenter; 5. drugs, alcohol or other psychotropic active substance abusers;or other severe psychiatric diseases. 6. with severe suicidal attempt or behavior, or with severe psychotic symptoms. 7. being received other psychological therapy.
