Interventions

1:0.5% plain bupivacaine

2:0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine (0.75% bupivacaine 2 ml plus 10% glucose 1 ml)

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA 1~2 In-patients; 2. All enrolled patients were clinically fit for performing the combined epidural-spinal anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included patients with diabetes, obesity, bleeding diathesis, hypersensitivity to amide local anesthetics, neuromuscular disease, lumbar vertebrae abnormality, or who were pregnant.
