Age

18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Symptomatic carotid artery stenosis > 50%, asymptomatic carotid stenosis > 70%; Patients with normal function of liver, kidney, heart, and lung; Informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Carotid artery occlusive; Previous history of thyroid or neck surgery; Participation in another intervention-trial; pregnancy.
