Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients with acute ischemic stroke confirmed by CT scan or magnetic resonance imaging; 2. age between 18 and 80 years; 3. could be randomized within 24 hours of symptom onset of a first or recurrent stroke; 4. being able to understand and agree with informed consent to participate; 5. satisfied physiological limits (systolic blood pressure 120 to 220 mm Hg, heart rate 40 to 100 bpm, oxygen saturation 92%, and temperature 38.5 Centegrade).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. patient with a premorbid modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score 3 (indicating disability); 2. deterioration within the first hour of admission to the stroke unit or direct admission to intensive care, concurrent progressive neurological disorder; 3. patients with cerebral hemorrhage; 4. acute coronary syndrome, severe heart failure; 5. acute arrhythmia; 6. lower-limb fracture that prevented mobilization; 7. require palliative care.
