the aMCI DEX group (MD group, n=40):A continuous DEX does infusion at 0.2-0.4 ug/kg/hr until the end of surgery without an initial dose in the DEX group
the aMCI normal saline group (MN group, n=40):a placebo infusion of normal saline

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with aMCI (n=80) and normal elderly patients (n=120, control patients) undergoing elective hip joint or knee joint or shoulder joint replacement surgery with general anesthesia from September 2014 to May 2015, with an American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status II to III, and an age of 65 to 80 years were enrolled in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included neurological diseases that may affect cognitive function (eg, subdural hematoma, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, hypothyroidism, alcoholic dementia, vitamin B12 deficiency, encephalitis), hypoxic pulmonary disease and perioperative serious cardiopulmonary complications
