Age
18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The target population is permanent residents, aged =18 years old, living in Guibei of China.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Using varieties of drugs to control blood glucose, blood pressure, blood lipid and other drugs used in preventing complications during natural process of metabolic syndrome; (2) Subjects deprived of personal safety and presence of any of the chronic diseases including stroke,myocardial infarction, other heart, liver, renal and respiratory dysfunction were excluded as progression of these in any stage mayhinder our study; (3) Pregnant subjects and subjects with malignancy; (4) Does not need assistance from the medical staffs to complete the survey done twice at baseline and during follow-up; (5) Subjects having past history of metabolic syndrome or have been diagnosed with metabolic syndrome at baseline during screening can not be enrolled in further prospective study.
