Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for hypertensive patients 1. More than 5 years of local settlement; 2. Aged 35-60 year-old; 3. Han nationality; 4. Unrelated individuals; 5. According to the definition standard of Chinese hypertension guideline in 2010early stage of essential hypertension; 6. SBP 140 mmHg to 160mmHg and/or DBP 90mmHg to 100mmHg; 7. No secondary hypertension; 8. Volunteer to participate in the trial and sign the informed consent form. The inclusion criteria for the normal blood pressure: 1. More than 5 years of local settlement; 2. Aged 35-60 year old; 3. Han nationality; 4. Unrelated individuals; 5. From the same community that patients were selected with primary hypertension; 6. SBP<140mmHg and DBP<90mmHg, without antihypertensive treatment of hypertension.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for patients with hypertension: 1. Use of antihypertensive drugs for the past one month; 2. Clinical diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, including coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, peripheral artery disease, cardiomyopathy, heart valve disease, congenital heart disease, acute myocardial infarction; 3. Patients with renal disease, liver disease and malignant tumor; 4. Currently pregnant women; 5. Self adherence to the low sodium diet; 6. Can not or do not want to participate the study. Or do not agree to sign the informed consent. Exclusion criteria for normal blood pressure: 1. Use of antihypertensive drugs for the past one month; 2. Clinical diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, liver disease and malignant tumor patients; 3. Currently pregnant women; 4. Self adherence to the low sodium diet; 5. Can not or do not want to participate the study. Or do not agree to sign the informed consent.
