Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age >18 years, duration<=1 year, with arm spasticity as a consequence of ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke diagnosed by CT scan or MRI, elbow flexor tone and ankle flexor graded between 1+ and 3 on the MAS, time from stroke onset at least three months, less than 1 year.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Duration of the stroke over 1 year, contracture deformity in the upper and lower limbs, infection at the injection site, oral medication such as aminoglycoside antibiotics which can disturb the transmission of chemicals in the neuro-muscular junction, in unstable medical condition, and with severe cognitive disorders, diplegia, pregnancy, breast-feeding, history of BTX-A treatment and other neurological diseases.
