Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all the patients undergoing elective surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. age<18 yr; 2. any contraindication to EDA, intercostal nerve block, the use of ropivacaine, morphine, metamizole, or diclofenac; 3. inability to understand the pain scale or to perform a spirometry; 4. any type of chronic painful condition or current opioid use.
