Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. chronic abdominal pain for at least 6 months; 2. all patients underwent examinations within 2 months before CE, including full blood count, liver and renal function test, electrolytes, stool routine plus occult blood test, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, and abdominal imaging examination including ultrasound, small intestinal barium imaging, abdominal computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging; 3. No evidence of organic disease was found to explain the abdominal pain according to the history, physical examinations and all above examinations; 4. Besides abdominal pain, the patients might accompany with: (1) chronic diarrhea for at least 2 weeks with a fluid or semisolid stool consistency and a stool frequency >=3 times/day; (2) weight loss >=10% within 3 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. gastrointestinal bleeding or anemia, including hematemesis, hematochezia or positive in fecal occult blood test; 2. intestinal obstruction diagnosed by clinical symptoms and/or imaging examinations; 3. confirmed Chron's Disease or other organic gastrointestinal diseases; 4. chronic pancreatitis; 5. hyperthyroidism; 6. malignant tumor; 7. other abnormal findings which might be the cause of abdominal pain; 8. abdominal surgery; 9. pregnancy.
