Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients who were scheduled to undergo surgery under general anesthesia with a laryngeal mask airway, aged 18-65 years with ASA I-II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with a body mass index (BMI) less than 18 or bigger than 28, with significant cardiac and pulmonary diseases, whose estimated operation duration was longer than 3 hrs and mouth opening smaller than 3cm, and who refused to use the laryngeal mask.
