12 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. more than 18 years old; 2. must have signed the written informed consent; 3. ascites of any etiology on clinical and laboratory imaging; 4. fulfil stringent diagnostic criteria for the cause of the ascites.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. contra-indication for paracentesis (hemodynamic instability, shock, active variceal bleeding etc; 2. pregnancy; 3. the etiology of ascites is not identified.
