Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as a carbohydrate intolerance of varying degrees of severity with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. All pregnant women were from Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University routinely screened for GDM at 26-32 weeks of gestation. GDM is diagnosed according to the criteria of the Chinese Diabetes in Pregnancy Society after a 75g oral glucose load (OGTT)and is defined as fasting plasma glucose levels higher than 5.6 mmol/L or plasma glucose levels higher than 10.3 mmol/L, 8.6 mmol/L, and 6.7 mmol/L 1-h, 2-h, and 3-h after OGTT, respectively.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: previously-diagnosed diabetes, maternal hypertension, asthma, polycystic ovaries, preeclampsia, liver diseases, kidney diseases and use of glucocorticoids during pregnancy
