Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) age between 15 and 50; (2) AHR with inhaled methacholine (Mch) (provocative concentration causing a 20% fall in FEV1 [PC20] < 8mg/ml) and/or a documented bronchodilator reversibility in FEV1 of more than both 12% predicted and 200ml; (3) in chronic persistent asthma.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) currently experiencing acute exacerbations; (2) current alcoholism or drug addiction; (3) family history of any mental health disorder or dementia; (4) current pregnancy or currently breast-feeding; (5) history of cancer or other severe chronic diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, ischemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and renal insufficiency; (6) inability to fully understand, comply and/or complete the present study.
