Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: OSAS group: 1. All OSAS patients were diagnosed by PSG; 2. All patients were going on the professional checkelectronic laryngoscope, cephalometrics or CT scan for upper air wayso that excluded for nasal or glossal obstruction; 3. All cases would undergo the UPPP or tonsillectomy; 4. No surgical history of oral pharynx or gnathous. Control group: 1. adult patients; 2. informed consent; 3. No history of snore or apnea; 4. excluded OSAS patients by ESS scale or PSG; 5. undergoing tonsillectomy; excluded criterion were as the same as OSAS group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. complained of weaknesspain or amyotrophy of muscles; 2. accompanied of other systematic disease, such as vasculitissarcoidosis or connective tissue disease involved muscle; 3. decreased exercise tolerence or abnormal creatase which may indicate the damaging skeletal muscle; 4. disseminated sclerosismyodystrophy and other neuromuscular disease, or with abnormal neural EMG; 5. with history of upper respiratory infection in recent 1 month; 6. history of excessive drinking; 7. history of cerebrovascular accident; 8. BMI>30kg/m2; 9. history of chemoradiotherapy.
