Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. 20 to 80 years old; 2. both female and male patients; 3. patients with pathology diagnosis as squamous carcinoma during their first hospital visit; 4. tumor lesion located in tongue, mouth floor, gum, buccal mucosa, palate etc.; 5. TNM status as T2N1M0, T3-4N0-3M0; 6. clinically as III, IV stage; 7. general status capable of tolerating the planned management, no contraindication for surgery, and distant metastasis excluded by scans.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. unwilling to receive surgery, making the treatment process impossible and could instead adopt conservative treatment; 2. poor general status making planned therapy intolerable, and conservative treatment better; 3. M1 patients with distant metastasis; 4. T1 patients being in the early clinical stage; 5. T2cN0 patients being in the early clinical stage; 6. T4 patients being inoperable.
