Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients(18-60 years old) diagnosed with CRSwNP and CRSsNP, according to the Chinese and European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps, were recruited and they had undergone functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) as part of the management for their disease at the Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery Department of the 5th Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded from the study if they had treatment with antibiotics or corticosteroids within a 4-week period before surgery, unilateral disease, allergic fungal rhinosinusitis, antrochoanal polyps, or cystic fibrosis.
