Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The diagnosis criteria were as following. For AD/MD (mild dementia), corresponding to DSM-IV and NINCDS-ADRDA criteria (McKhann et al., 1984): 1. objective evidences for long-term or short-term memory impairment; 2. MMSE=24, MoCA<19, CDR=1. For MCI, Petersen criteria (Petersen, 2004) were used: 1) complain memory disorder with witness; 2) evidence for memory impairment; 3) MMSE 25-26 for education 8 years or longer, or MOCA 19-25 for education 12 years or longer, CDR=0.5; 4) not diagnosed as an AD/MD. The normal control was defined as MMSE 27-30, MoCA 26-30 and CDR=0, without complain memory disorder. According to these criteria, 33 participants were included in the MCI group who had an overall CDR of 0.5, including two MD participants has a CDR=1. Other 30 participants were used as normal control group (NC).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All subjects were submitted to a series of standardized clinical assessment including neuropsychological, neurological and psychiatric exams to define clinical status. Written consent was obtained from all subjects. There is no history of major neurological or psychiatric disorder except AD/MCI, and no drug or alcohol abuse for any participant.
