Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Clinical evaluation confirming the purgative activity of the selected drugs and indicating a significant association with serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT levels.Timepoint: 0th day, Before and after intervention, After Samsarjana Krama.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Identification of a defined set of bioactive phytochemicals with potential laxative activity from Terminalia chebula Retz, Cassia fistula Linn, Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex Benth, and Operculina turpethum L. Silva Manso. Identification of predicted molecular interactions between the bioactive compounds of the selected drugs and serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HTrelated molecular targets using computational pharmacology approaches. Demonstration of a significant correlation between computational pharmacology findings and clinical outcomes, thereby establishing a mechanistic basis for the therapeutic action of the selected Adhobhaghara drugs used for Virechana Karma. Timepoint: 0th day, Before and after intervention, After Samsarjana Krama.
