Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Clinical diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke who undergo cerebral imaging with CT angiogram of brain and neck vessels.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Intracranial hemorrhage on initial imaging. Poor-quality or incomplete angiographic studies precluding collateral assessment. Stroke mimics or non-vascular causes of neurological deficit example seizure, metabolic encephalopathy, migraine, hypoglycemia, space occupying lesions.
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Assessment of the pattern of vascular occlusion and collateral circulation with volume of cerebral infarction, specifically correlating CTA-based collateral grade with baseline NIHSS.Timepoint: At baseline at the time of hospital admission and initial emergency neuroimaging, within 24 hours of stroke onset. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Early functional outcome using the modified Rankin ScaleTimepoint: At hospital discharge.;Evolution of clinical stroke severity using the National Institutes of Health Stroke ScaleTimepoint: At 24 hours post-admission;Cerebral infarction volume estimation via Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score & identification of anomalous collateral patternsTimepoint: At baseline & at hospital admission | — |
