Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children aged 4 to 14 years whose parents or guardians provide written informed consent to participate in the study. The study group includes children with a confirmed medical diagnosis of congenital heart disease. The control group includes systemically healthy children with no history of cardiac, metabolic, or chronic infectious diseases.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children who have received antibiotic therapy or used antimicrobial mouth rinses within the last 3 months prior to sample collection. Children who have undergone professional periodontal scaling or root planing in the last 3 months. Children currently undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment. Children with other systemic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, juvenile arthritis, or immunodeficiencies. Children with severe physical or mental limitations that prevent adequate cooperation for non invasive sample collection. Presence of acute dents alveolar abscesses or draining sinuses at the time of examination.
