Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to ICU for more than 48hours following abdominal or cardiothoracic surgery. Patient with post-operative abdominal or thoracic drains, tubes, lines secured, functional and not contraindicating mobilization

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Surgical instability- open chest or abdomen or vacuum assisted closure Pre-existing conditions- neuromuscular disease, spinal cord injury, paralysis Uncontrolled sepsis Patient receiving palliative care
