Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All American society of anesthesia class I-II patients undergoing elective supratentorial craniotomies under general anesthesia
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Refusal to participate in study 2.Contraindications to performance of scalp block, such as local infection, allergy to local anaesthetic agent, open skull defect, scarring, bleeding disorder 3.Age less than 18 years 4.Pre-existing chronic pain 5.History of drug addiction or chronic alcohol abuse 6.Presence of uncontrolled systemic arterial hypertension or severe systemic illness 7.Predicted to require postoperative ventilation in the intensive care unit 8.Psychiatric disorder
