Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18years and above undergoing major lower limb orthopaedic surgery, Willing to participate and provide written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with a documented history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism prior to the index surgery. Patients with known inherited or acquired hypercoagulable disorders. Patients receiving long-term therapeutic anticoagulant therapy before surgery. Patients with active malignancy or currently receiving chemotherapy. Patients with a history of major surgery or major trauma within the preceding 3 months, unrelated to the current orthopaedic procedure. Patients who are non-ambulatory before surgery due to chronic neurological or musculoskeletal disorders. Patients who do not undergo the scheduled postoperative venous Doppler ultrasonography for any reason
