Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients more than equal to 18 years Diagnosed with cardiogenic shock Planned for intra-aortic balloon pump insertion as part of routine clinical care Adequate transtemporal acoustic window for MCA insonation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Intracranial hemorrhage or large territorial stroke Known severe carotid artery stenosis Known intracranial pathology affecting cerebral blood flow Inadequate acoustic window for TCD Patients in whom T1 measurement cannot be safely performed due to hemodynamic instability
