Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All non-diabetic antenatal women in their first trimester of pregnancy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Hypertension 2. Renal disease 3. Liver disease 4. Gout 5. Smoking and alcohol intake 6. Drugs known to cause increased serum uric acid levels. eg: Aspirin, phenothiazines, diuretics
