Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients of ASA I and II 2.Height between 145cm to 175cm 3.weight between 40 to 80 kg 4.patients of Mallam pati 1 and 2 5.Patients posted for infraumbilical surgery under subarachnoid block

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients who are sensitive or allergic to glucocorticoids 2.Patients With chronic steroid therapy 3.Bleeding diathesis 4.present or past history of peptic ulcer disease 5.Patients with heart failure 6.Patients with viral or fungul infection 7.Any poorly controlled disease (ex-Hypertension Diabetes mellitus) 8.History of glaucoma 9.with preterm pregnancy or multiple pregnancies 10.refusal of patient

Effect of preoperative intravenous dexamethasone on postoperative analgesia and block duration under subarachnoid blockTimepoint: postoperative analgesia will be assessed by Vas score at 30 minutes interval upto 6 hours after subarachnoid block. Motor block duration willbe assessed by bromage scale at 30 minutes interval after subarachnoid block

effect of preoperative intravenos dexamethasone on haemodynamic stability (SBP,DBP,MAP,SPO2),prevention of intraoperative shivering and incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing infraumbilical surgery under subarachnoid block.Timepoint: Haemodynamic parameters such as SBP,DBP,MAP,SPO2 willbe recorded in every 10 minutes intraoperatively and in every 30 minutes postoperatively upto 6 hours.
