Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with depression as per ICD-11 criteria 2. Admitted to psychiatric units at Vijayapur with moderately severe and severe level of depression according to the Patient Health Questionnaire 9 3. Male and female patients aged between 20 and 65 years with insight 4. On antidepressant treatment only

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are critically ill. 1. Co-morbid medical illness like liver disease, Diabetic mellitus. 2. Non-co-operative patients and their family caregiver. 3. Patients admitted without a family caregiver. 4. Patients who are on any other complementary therapy.
