Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants will be eligible for inclusion if they are adults aged 30 to 70 years, have a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus for at least one year based on the American Diabetes Association criteria, and are willing to provide written informed consent and comply with all study procedures and follow-up requirements.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants with systolic blood pressure greater than 139 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure greater than 89 mmHg, participants currently receiving antihypertensive medication, individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease, neuromuscular disorders, or joint pain that may interfere with yoga practice, and individuals who have practiced yoga regularly for more than 2 to 3 hours per week during the past six months will be excluded from the study.

To assess the change in HIF 1 alpha expression following 3 months of yoga based lifestyle intervention in individuals with T2DM, assessed by HIF 1 alpha gene expression using quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction and HIF 1 alpha protein expression using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.Timepoint: Baseline and 3 months

To assess changes in HIF-1 Alpha regulated downstream gene expression following 7 days of yoga-based lifestyle intervention using qRT-PCR.Timepoint: Baseline and 7 days;To assess changes in glycaemic control and insulin sensitivity following intervention, including fasting blood glucose (FBG), postprandial blood glucose (PPBG), glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting insulin, and Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR).Timepoint: Baseline and 3 Months;To assess changes in oxidative stress and inflammatory biomarkers following intervention, including malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-Alpha).Timepoint: Baseline And 3 Months;To assess changes in vascular, endothelial, autonomic, and cardiovascular parameters following intervention, including flow-mediated dilatation (FMD), carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), blood pressure, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV).Timepoint: Baseline and 3 months
