Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients of more than 18 years of age, clinically suspected or diagnosed with bone and joint infections at Kasturba Hospital will be included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients having confirmed non-infectious musculoskeletal conditions like Gout, rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis. 2. Patients previously enrolled in this study for infections at the same anatomical site.

| a. From a clinical perspective, the generation of locally relevant epidemiological, microbiological, and resistance data will support the development of evidence-based institutional protocols for BJI diagnosis and management. It will also help in a better understanding of antimicrobial treatment usage in culture-positive and culture-negative cases. b. From a diagnostic perspective, evaluation of broad-range 16S rRNA PCR in the local setting will provide evidence for or against its routine implementation in the BJI diagnostic pathway, with direct implications for patients who currently remain without microbiological diagnosis due to culture negativity.
