Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults aged 18 to 65 years Confirmed diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status II or III Scheduled for elective surgery under anaesthesia Availability of a pre-operative HbA1c value measured as per institutional protocol Willing and able to provide written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or other specific types of diabetes Patients undergoing emergency or trauma surgery Presence of active pre-existing surgical site infection, chronic infected non-healing ulcer, gangrene, or septic wound at the time of surgery Patients with decompensated heart failure, end-stage renal disease, advanced liver failure, or other severe uncontrolled systemic illness Patients unwilling or unable to provide written informed consent
