Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women between 18 and 60 years of age who are reside in rural area. Women who provide informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with a prior diagnosis of breast cancer Individuals currently employed as health professionals.

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in breast cancer awareness following the multicomponent behavioural intervention, measured using the Breast Cancer Awareness Measure. Improvement in breast self examination knowledge and practice following the intervention. Increase in the proportion of women performing regular monthly breast self-examination. Adherence to regular breast self examination over the one-year follow-up period, assessed using the monthly logbook. Improvement in participants confidence and skills in performing correct breast self-examination. Overall effectiveness of the multicomponent behavioural intervention in promoting sustained breast self-examination practices among rural women.Timepoint: Baseline pre intervention monthly follow-up for 12 months logbook monitoring, and final assessment at 12 months post-intervention

Adherence to monthly breast self-examination assessed using the monthly logbook. Effectiveness of mirror-based visual reminders in promoting regular BSE practice. Sociodemographic factors associated with improvement in breast cancer awareness and BSE practice. Acceptability and participant satisfaction with the multicomponent behavioural intervention.Timepoint: Monthly during the 12-month follow-up and at 12 months postintervention.
