Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women aged 18 to 45 years Body mass index 25 kilograms per square meter or more, with subcutaneous fat thickness more than 5 centimeters Singleton pregnancy Gestational age between 28 and 42 weeks Women undergoing elective or emergency lower-segment cesarean section

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women with pre existing wound infection or skin disorder at the surgical site Known bleeding or coagulation disorder Hemoglobin less than 11 grams per deciliter Immunocompromised state including HIV infection or long term steroid therapy Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus with HbA1c more than 7 percent Abdominal wall edema Previous abdominal surgery with significant scar complications requiring secondary wound healing Postpartum hemorrhage Premature rupture of membranes Maternal fever Any active infection
