Interventions

Intervention1: Aminoacid: Aminoacid (10 percent) intravenous infusion at the rate of 1.5g/kg/day from induction of anesthesia, continued intraoperatively and postoperatively till enteral intake resume

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pediatric patients aged 29 days to 6 years scheduled for elective cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neonates less than or equal to 28 days of life, Cardiac surgery without cardiopulmonary bypass, Inborn errors of metabolism, Hypersensitivity to Aminoacid, Severe hepatic insufficiency (ALT/AST 2 times above normal range), Severe renal insufficiency (creatinine 2 times above normal range), Preoperative mechanical ventilation or inotropes, Emergency surgery, Refusal to participate in the study
