Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children aged 4 to 12 years 2. Children posted for surgery belonging to American society of Anaesthesiologists grade I and II 3. Presence of at least one caregiver or parent 4. Informed valid written consent of parent or caregiver

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children having severe cognitive deficit 2. Children taking sedative, anticonvulsants and analgesic drugs 3. Children having chronic pain 4. Having fever of 38 degree Celsius or above

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate efficacy of a Buzzy device for relief of pain during IV cannulation using Visual Analogue Scale in which on a scale of 1 to 10, 0 means no pain, 5 means distressing pain and 10 means unbearable pain.Timepoint: Right after the procedure of IV cannulation.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the extent of fear during IV cannulation using FLACC scale ranging from 0 to 10 and CHILD FEAR INVENTORY scale ranging from 0 to 4.Timepoint: During the procedure of IV cannulation.
