Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. age more than 18 years 2. patients undergoing general anaesthesia needing orotracheal intubation with tube fixation at the angle of the mouth

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with nasotracheal intubation 2. Patients requiring oral intubation in whom the tube is not fixed at the angle of the mouth 3. Patients with skin trauma, burns, and skin diseases 4. Allergy to adhesive tapes 5. Patients with beards 6. Patients with removable dentures or missing premolar teeth 7. Patients requiring postoperative mechanical ventilation

MeasureTime frame
endotracheal tube displacement calculated as the difference between initial and final endotracheal tube depth at the premolar, measured in centimetres. A displacement of more than 1cm2 will be classified as significant endotracheal tube displacement.Timepoint: assessed at the end of the surgery immediately before extubation—
