Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All consenting pregnant women who are attending antenatal clinic at 8weeks of gestation at KGH whose PPBS value is 110mg/dl to 119 mg/dl 2. Mothers willing to adhere tosaid intervention i.e., Tab Metformin (prescribed dosage BD) along with Medical Nutrition Therapy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women less that 8 weeks of gestation 2. Multiple Gestation Pregnancy 3. Pregnant women whose first antenatal visit at more than 11 weeks of gestation 4. Mothers who are not willing to give consent. 5. Known case of Overt Diabetes 6. History of GDM in previous pregnancy 7. Mothers identified as Overt DM during the first visit 8.. Mothers whose PPBS value persistently beyond expected control ( >110mg/dl) during course of the study even with increased dosage of METFORMIN 9. Mothers who develop any adverse event to T. METFORMIN
