Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consenting patients of both sexes undergoing Valvular surgery between the age of 20 years to 70 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients less than 20 years or more than 70 years. Patients undergoing Double Valve Replacement, patients having fever in the past two week, patients with elevated baseline markers.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To investigate the antiinflammatory impact of intravenous ketamine on levels of CRP, IL6 and the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio.Timepoint: At baseline, 24 hour and 48 hours.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the difference in the ionotropic requirement between two groups. To determine the need for vasopressors and the incidence of vasoplegia between two groups. To compare pain scores and opoid requirement between two groups. To compare early postoperative outcome with respect to Ventilation Duration, ICU Stay, and hospital stay. Timepoint: At baseline, 24 hour, 48 hour.
