Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All stable preterm (less than 37 weeks) neonates requiring PRBC transfusion at level III/IV NICU as per unit protocol

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Major congenital anomalies 2. Neonates requiring major cardiorespiratory support 3. Severe IVH (Grade III IV), or 4. Unstable infants where NIRS placement is not feasible.
