Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Maternal-infant dyads with a singleton, term delivery, gestational age between 37 and 41 plus 6 weeks. Healthy neonates at birth with an uneventful transition.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neonates with low birth weight. Neonates with congenital malformations accounting to suspicion of some syndrome. Neonates with moderate to severe perinatal asphyxia or other indications of NICU admission and separation from mothers. Neonates who will undergo exchange blood transfusion. Mothers with chronic illness like tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus, chronic liver disease, chronic kidney disease, severe anemia, HIV, hepatitis B, gestational diabetes mellitus, pregnancy induced hypertension, hypothyroidism. Mothers who will be on vitamin d3 in last 3 months of pregnancy given during antenatal period. Mothers who will not be exclusively breastfeeding.
