Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients in the age between 18-50yrs. Posterior teeth(premolars and molars) requiring a primary Class II composite restoration (MO or DO) Vital tooth with no signs, symptoms of irreversible pulpitis, necrosis. Intact adjacent tooth with a clinically normal proximal contact. No existing proximal restoration on the test surface in the study tooth. Periodontally healthy at the site(probing depth less than 3mm, no bleeding on probing at the interproximal test site) Occlusion should be stable,no fremitus or significant mobility.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Current orthodontic appliances, retainers affecting the contact area. Bruxism,Parafunction requiring splint therapy or with severe wear facets. Pregnancy or lactation Allergy to the study material (resin, wedges, rubber dam components, metal) Non vital tooth , fractures Severe subgingival proximal margins(more than 1mm below CEJ) where proper isolation/wedge seal cannot be achieved. Greater than grade 1 mobility involving the furcation or probing depth greater than 3mm at the contact area
