Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled to undergo diagnostic fiberoptic bronchoscopy, endobronchial or transbronchial biopsy or brush cytology under topical anaesthesia
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Known hypersensitivity to local anaesthetics, baseline hypoxemia less than ninety percent, pregnancy, patients with chronic heart failure, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, preexisting cough, those who refuse to consent
