Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with Sandhigata Vata based on classical Ayurvedic signs and symptoms (pain, stiffness, crepitus, restricted movement of knee joint). 2. Patients of either gender aged between 20 70 years. 3. Patients willing to undergo Basti therapy and follow the treatment protocol. 4. Patients willing to give written informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe knee joint deformity requiring surgical intervention. 2. Patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, gout, septic arthritis or other inflammatory joint disorders. 3. Patients with history of major trauma, fracture or surgery of the knee joint. 4. Patients with serious systemic illnesses such as uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, severe hypertension, cardiac disorders, renal or hepatic diseases. 5. Pregnant and lactating women. 6. Patients contraindicated for Basti therapy or unwilling to participate in the study.
