Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diabetic Nephropathy: Adults aged above 18 years, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus with a urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio of 30-300 mg per 24 h and estimated glomerular filtration rate less than 60 90 mL per min per 1.73 m2 Type 2 Diabetes:Adults aged above 18 years, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus with a urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio of less than 30 mg per 24h and estimated glomerular filtration rate more than 90 mL per min per 1.73 m2 Healthy human volunteers: Age and sex matched healthy individuals

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: DN, T2DM: Individuals with confirmed type 1 diabetes mellitus and presence of non-diabetic kidney diseases (glomerulonephritis, polycystic kidney disease), recent acute kidney injury within the last 3 months Healthy human volunteers: Any sign of microvascular complications

Comparison of expression levels of NPHS1, NPHS2, ECM1, SOX9, GABP, LAMB2, COL4A1, SOST, EHD3, HAVCR1, and SPP1 in peripheral blood and urine samples between Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients, Diabetic Nephropathy (DN) patients, and healthy volunteers.Timepoint: 1 year to 2 years
