Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 15 and 25 years. Currently undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment (bonding completed within 2 weeks prior to enrollment). The expected duration of orthodontic treatment should be at least 12 months from the start of the study. Good general and systemic health, with no underlying conditions affecting oral health or compliance. Willingness and ability to use a smartphone (personally or via a parent/guardian) with access to WhatsApp. Provided written informed consent (and parental consent for minors below 18 years). Willing to comply with study visits, intervention protocols, and follow-up procedures for the entire study duration.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of moderate to severe periodontal disease or poor oral hygiene at baseline. Patients with active caries lesions requiring restorative treatment at baseline. Systemic diseases or medications known to affect salivary flow, oral hygiene behavior, or caries activity (e.g., diabetes, xerostomia-inducing drugs). History of orthognathic surgery or currently undergoing combined orthodontic-surgical treatment. Cognitive, psychological, visual, or auditory impairments that may interfere with understanding or following the intervention. History of non-compliance or frequent missed orthodontic appointments in previous phases of treatment. Participation in any other ongoing oral health intervention or clinical trial.
