Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Female patients of age group 40-70 years diagnosed with breast cancer. 2. Patients who had underwent Mastectomy surgery and are scheduled to undergo external beam radiation therapy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with pre-existing severe pulmonary conditions. 2. Patients with other malignant tumor or recurrence. 3. Patients who have undergone previous radiation therapy for breast cancer. 4. Patients having any surgery on the chest and abdomen other than for breast cancer. 5. Patients with neurological conditions associated with impaired cognition and inability to follow instructions or comply with the study protocol. 6. Patients not willing to participate in the study. 7. Patients receiving chemotherapy concurrently during the radiotherapy period.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Maximal inspiratory pressure. Pulmonary function test. Peak expiratory flow rate. Six-minute walk test. Timepoint: 1 week before radiotherapy. At the completion of radiotherapy. 1 month post radiotherapy. 3 months post radiotherapy.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Quality of Life.Timepoint: 1 week before radiotherapy. At the completion of radiotherapy. 1 month post radiotherapy. 3 months post radiotherapy.
