Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients above 18 years of age who were scheduled for off pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who have preoperative Acute kidney injury (AKI) 2. Patient with chronic kidney disease (CKD) with or without hemodialysis 3. Patients with positive blood culture before surgery 4. Patients undergoing surgery for Infective endocarditis 5. Patients with conversion from off pump to on-pump CABG 6. Patients with diagnosis of cirrhosis with or without portal hypertension 7. Redo cardiac surgery

MeasureTime frame
To predict risk of postoperative AKI in patients undergoing off pump coronary artery bypass surgery using VExUS score.Timepoint: VExUS parameters are measured immediately after induction of anesthesia and prior to the surgical incision and VExUS score variables were calculated 24 and 48 hours postoperatively in a spontaneously breathing patient using a transthoracic phased array probe.

1) To assess association of VExUS score with central venous pressure in patients undergoing off pump coronary artery bypass surgery. 2) To assess association between VExUS score and incidence of postoperative sepsis identified by qSOFA after off pump coronary artery bypass surgery. 3) To assess association between VExUS score and in-hospital mortality after off pump coronary artery bypass surgery.Timepoint: The heart rate, rhythm and blood pressure at the time of VExUS examination were noted. Daily serum creatinine and hourly urine output was monitored and AKI was defined by KDIGO criteria. The qSOFA score was calculated daily and a score more than 2 was used to identify patients in sepsis.
