Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All adult patients undergoing open hernia surgery for abdominal and inguinal hernia. 2. All patients agreeing to sign the written consent for the study. 3. Patients above the age of 18 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing surgery without the use of mesh. 2. Patients with HIV/Hepatitis-B/Hepatitis-C infection. 3. Patients on immunosuppressive therapy or chemotherapy. 4. Pregnant females. 5. Patients below the age of 18 years. 6. Pre-existing local infection at surgical site. 7. Lost to follow-up before 1 year.

MeasureTime frame
Triglyceride glucose index as predictor of surgical site infection in patients of open hernia.Timepoint: Patient will be reviewed as and when he presents in OPD.

MeasureTime frame
Association of triglyceride glucose ratio with severity of surgical site infection.Timepoint: Till 1 year.
